Session Happenings
Session meets each month on the second Wednesday of the month at 7:00. The Moderator of Session is Reverend John Barclay. The session leader is Karen Ingignoli. Clerk of Session is Suzanne McPhillips. The session is the governing body of the church.Dear Friends,
It’s time to move from the sidelines and GET INVOLVED! There are many great programs and areas for service at First Presbyterian Church that offer something for everyone!
The Volunteer Task Force (Martha Coughlan, Arnie Galbraith, Mary Friedman, Mary Ann Bell, Nancy Parsons, Karen Ingignoli) have begun to review, reorganize and replenish the volunteers needed for the many wonderful activities and programs of our church. As a congregation of a large, program church, our mindset must begin to move away from the reliance on office staff, to the use of our volunteers.
Starting on Sunday, June 6th and throughout the month of June, there will be a VOLUNTEER SIGNUP SHEET in your bulletin at worship, as well as on the website. (You may download the form found in the Outreach section of this site) Please take a few moments to prayerfully consider signing up for any of our volunteer needs. You may indicate all you are already involved with as well as anything you would be able and willing to do. (This is not a lifetime commitment!! We will periodically ask for any changes to your commitments as our needs and your life circumstances may change.) You may place the completed forms in the boxes provided at all entrances to the sanctuary, as well as the office. All forms should be completed no later than June 30, 2010. We would appreciate your returning forms as soon as possible, as there are some areas where help is needed as early as July 1.
In July and August, we will organize our lists into the work and life of First Presbyterian Church. Volunteers have already agreed to help us do this. Now more than ever before, WE NEED YOUR TIME AND TALENTS! If each one of our members and friends agreed to volunteer for one need, imagine the great things our church could accomplish!
It has been said: Do not ask the Lord to guide your footsteps if you are unwilling to move your feet!
Blessings to All,
Karen Ingignoli
