Stewardship

The actual stewardship effort is all but completed for the 2010 budget year.  However, there are still many who have not made a commitment to support our Church.  It is not too late to make a decision to give a fixed amount of money each week or month from now until the end of the year, December 31, 2010.  The total amount pledged for the partial year will assist the Finance Committee in managing the expenses of the Church.

Being a member of this or any church is not just a matter of sayiing you are a member, it is an involvement of your time, your talent, and your financial resources.  If a person is not doing one or more of these what does membership really mean?

Stewardship is not about equal gifts, it is about equal sacrifice.

The Stewardship Committee is made up of Jim Mathis, Chairman, Bob Rabe, and Don Strycker.

Through Monday, May 24, 2010, the response from the congregation has been heartening:

   264 pledges have been received

Total pledge amount is $374,254 which includes $9,934 in Apportionment pledges

Of the 264 pledges
104 were increased over the previous year
     28 were new pledges
107 were the same as last year
The net increase in pledging to date is $41,001.
The average increase in pledges is 21.20%.

A sincere thank you to those who have made committments for 2010.

For those members yet to make pledges, the pledges should be sent to the church or placed in the offering plate on Sundays.
